WHR-140 Culligan Level 2 Shower Filter Replacement Cartridge
The Culligan WHR-140 wall-mounted filtered showerhead uses the WHR-140 replacement cartridge, which should be replaced every 6 months or after 10,000 gallons of water, whichever comes first. Homes with heavy chlorine levels or multiple daily showers may require more frequent replacement to maintain peak chlorine reduction and optimal water flow.
What contaminants does the Culligan WHR-140 shower filter reduce? The Culligan WHR-140 is tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 177 for free available chlorine reduction. Its KDF-55 filtration media effectively reduces chlorine taste and odor from your shower water, helping to relieve dry skin, itchy scalp, and brittle hair caused by chlorinated municipal water. It does not remove hard water minerals, bacteria, or fluoride.
What is the flow rate and micron rating of the Culligan WHR-140?The Culligan WHR-140 delivers a maximum flow rate of 2.0 GPM (gallons per minute) at 80 psi, meeting U.S. federal shower flow standards. It features a 5-stage filtration system and includes 5 spray settings for a customizable showering experience. The housing is designed for wall-mount installation on standard 1/2" NPT shower arms.
Do I need a plumber to install the Culligan WHR-140 showerhead? No, the Culligan WHR-140 is designed for easy DIY installation and requires no tools beyond plumber's tape. Simply unscrew your existing showerhead from the shower arm, wrap the threads with plumber's tape, and hand-tighten the WHR-140 onto the 1/2" NPT shower arm connection. Installation typically takes less than 5 minutes.
How do I know when it's time to replace the WHR-140 filter cartridge? You'll notice signs that indicate replacement is needed: a decrease in water flow, the return of chlorine smell in your shower water, or reaching the 6-month / 10,000-gallon service life. To replace, simply unscrew the filter housing cap on the WHR-140, remove the spent cartridge, insert a new Culligan WHR-140 replacement cartridge, and reattach the cap. No tools required.
