The EcoSeries Tier1 Whole House Water Softener Alternative Replacement Media Kit arrives self-contained, so the new media tank is ready to install. Simply turn off the water supply line and replace the existing water softener alternative media tank with the replacement. Directly after installation, the Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) powered media will begin the process of treating your water. This method of Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) does not remove calcium and magnesium from the water like traditional softeners but instead changes them from their ionic form to a harmless crystalline form. In this state, they are stable and won't attach to pipes and appliances. The crystalline contaminants will simply wash down the drain with normal water use in this form. Usage of the salt-free conditioning system on private well water must meet the following requirements:
A pre-treatment system for Iron, Manganese, Copper, and Sulfur must be installed prior to the salt-free conditioner unless a professional water analysis shows that the raw well water meets the following chemistry requirements: Iron less than 0.3 mg/L, Manganese less than 0.05 mg/L, copper less than 1.3 mg/L.
