Water Filter Housings
A filter housing is the canister that holds your replacement cartridge in place. If you're building a custom filtration setup, replacing a cracked or aging housing, or upgrading your system's flow capacity, this is the right place to start.
The key specs to match before you buy:
- Filter size — 10" housings are standard for most residential setups; 20" housings handle higher flow rates and offer longer filter life between cartridge changes.
- Inlet/outlet thread size — most homes use ¾" NPT connections, but larger systems or higher-demand applications may require 1" NPT. Check your existing plumbing before ordering.
- Application — standard clear and slim-line housings work for cold water lines. If you're filtering hot water (near a water heater, for example), you'll need the high-temperature red housing, rated for elevated temperatures where standard plastic housings can warp or fail.
