The Tier1 RS2-SS is a comparable replacement for the OmniFilter RS2-SS whole house sediment filter. This 10-inch heavy-duty stainless steel mesh filter is designed to fit standard OmniFilter whole house housings as well as most other brand-name 10" standard housings. It is built specifically to trap rust, sand, silt, and sediment from your entire home's water supply before it reaches your appliances and fixtures.

The Tier1 RS2-SS features a 200-micron stainless steel mesh screen. Unlike disposable spun polypropylene or pleated sediment filters, this reusable stainless steel design captures larger sediment particles such as rust flakes, sand, and silt. The 200-micron rating makes it ideal as a pre-filter to protect finer downstream filtration systems, water softeners, and household plumbing from heavy particulate damage.

One of the key benefits of the Tier1 RS2-SS is that it is reusable and washable, unlike single-use cartridges. With proper care, the stainless steel mesh cartridge can last for years. Tier1 recommends inspecting the filter every 2–3 months and cleaning it as needed by rinsing the mesh under running water to remove trapped sediment. This makes the RS2-SS an economical and environmentally friendly sediment filtration solution.

The Tier1 RS2-SS is manufactured and tested to meet industry quality standards for sediment reduction performance comparable to the OmniFilter RS2-SS. While the stainless steel mesh cartridge itself is not NSF/ANSI certified, it is engineered from food-grade stainless steel and designed for use in standard 10" whole house filter housings. For additional chemical or chlorine reduction, pair it with an NSF/ANSI-certified carbon block filter downstream.

The Tier1 RS2-SS fits standard 10-inch whole house filter housings, including OmniFilter models such as the U25, U30, and BF Series, as well as most other brand 10" x 2.5" housings. Before installation, always shut off the main water supply, depressurize the housing, and confirm the O-ring is properly seated. Because the RS2-SS is a sediment pre-filter, it works best when installed at the point-of-entry before any other filtration equipment in your home.
