Apply a thin coat of food-grade silicone grease to the new WOR-FF, then seat it evenly into the groove without twisting. Reinstall the sump hand-tight plus a quarter turn with the housing wrench—do not overtighten, as this can pinch or damage the O-ring.

You should always install the exact WOR-FF replacement rather than reusing the old one. O-rings take a "compression set" over time, meaning they lose their ability to rebound and create a reliable seal once removed. Using a generic or incorrectly sized O-ring can result in slow leaks, housing failure under pressure, or water damage.
