The TIER1-IN-WF0140 fits the following model numbers
UNIVERSAL FILTER - INSTALLS DIRECTLY INTO WATER LINE |
Instructions
- Shut off the water supply
- Remove the dust caps from both ends of the filter before use.
- The filter is to be inserted into the 1/4 inch OD supply tube that feeds water to the refrigerator. (Do not cut any water lines inside the refrigerator).
- Locate the filter as close as possible to the supply water shut-off valve.
(NOTE: If the filter is located behind the refrigerator, there needs to be at least a 6-inch clearance between the wall and the refrigerator). - Locate fitting for the tubing on each side of the inline filtration system.
- Push the tubing into the filter inlet, ensuring the line is flush with the fitting collar. Do not insert the tubing into the filter outlet until step 8.
- Flush the filter. Place filter outlet over a bucket or pan; fine particles of carbon may be present. Flush by connecting the filter inlet to fitting. Attach the blue clip provided with the filter under the collar to secure it in place (this will help prevent the inlet line from popping out during service). Fine carbon particles will be removed during the flushing. Stop flushing after 5 minutes or approximately 2.5 gallons or until water runs clear.
- Connect the outlet of the filter to the water line going to the refrigerator. Attach the second blue clip under the collar of the connection to the outlet water line.
- Connect the inlet of the filter to the water supply line and inspect for leaks. If a leak occurs, tighten fittings.
- Write the date of installation on the filter and mark your calendar to replace it with another filter after 6 months.
