WHAT DO YOUR PART NUMBERS SIGNIFY?

Our Tier1 Whole Home Solutions part numbers may look like random letters and digits, but each individual part has a naming convention that helps determine what the system contains.
WH stands for Whole Home Solution. We really wanted to differentiate our Whole Home Solutions from the rest of our filtration assortment.
CB stands for Carbon Media. This indicates that the system has a carbon pre-filter media.
KDF stands for KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) Media. This is the special media inside the tank that provides high quality filtering capabilites.
SF stands for Salt Free Softener. This means the particular system combination contains a tank containing salt-free softening media.
UV stands for Ultraviolet Light System. These systems contain a final step UV filter for some final polishing and removing of potential microbes in your water.

WHAT BENEFITS DO WHOLE HOME SOLUTION PACKAGES HAVE OVER OTHER FILTRATION METHODS?

Whole home solution filters are primarily beneficial because they address all filtering concerns and contain all of your filtering equipment in one centralized place, this makes it easy to access and repair. The filters work together to provide all your home filtration needs from sediment removal to contaminant reduction and fine particle filtration, finishing off with hard-water treatment with salt free softening technology. You won't have to worry about individual filters at point of use locations because the system installs at the point of entry and treats all the water flowing into your home.

IS THE AMOUNT OF MEDIA AUTO-PROGRAMMED? HOW DOES IT CORRELATE WITH USAGE?

The media requirement is based on home size and average household water needs. The Series 8,000 system is designed for homes with 1-3 bathrooms. The Series 10,000 is designed for homes with 3-6 bathrooms. If you require a higher flow rate and demand then the series 10,000 may prove more effective for meeting your needs.

IS THERE A QUICK CHANGE MEDIA CHANGE-OUT GUIDE?

We will not be selling loose Carbon and KDF blend or scale inhibiting media. The media replacement will come enclosed in a new resin tank, this installation will be the same as first time installation. The tanks need to be exchanged after the lifetime of the product has elapsed.

HOW DOES TEMPLATE ASSISTED CRYSTALLIZATION WORK?

Only our salt free softening resin works by template assisted crystallization. To create the scale inhibiting media, magnesium and calcium ions are collected on beads. These ions beads, or crystals, then drop off and re-enter the water. The media changes hardness minerals from their ionic form to a crystalline form. In this very stable form, calcium and magnesium do not attach to pipes, appliances, and fixture surfaces. The crystals are so small, in fact, that they are readily rinsed away by the normal flow of water. This technology is often referred to as "template assisted crystallization," or simply TAC. Like the traditional water softener, our Scale Inhibiting systems use a treatment medium contained in a standard resin tank. Water is passed through the granular medium, our scale inhibiting media, inside the tank and treated. It works because magnesium and calcium ions are collected on beads. These ions beads, or crystals, drop off and re-enter the water.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO POWER THE UV SYSTEM?

There are two options of UV systems depending on which whole home solution model you have. The 8000 series uses the VIQUA-S200RL-HO which only requires 35 watts to operate. The 10000 series utilizes the VIQUA-S410RL-HO which needs 60 watts to perform optimally. The benefit of the UV system is that it significantly reduces bacteria and viruses that have potential to make it past the other systems. A UV system is highly recommended for people who are on well water or water that is not treated by a local water utility service.

HOW MANY GALLONS PER MINUTE DOES EACH SYSTEM PRODUCE?

The TIER1_WH_CB_KDF_SF_UV_844 and TIER1_WH_CB_KDF_SF_844 (8000 series) both have a gallons per minute rate of 4 gpm. The TIER1_WH_CB_KDF_SF_UV_1054 and TIER1_WH_CB_KDF_SF_1054 (10000 series) both have a rate of 7 gpm. The differences are due different homes have different water requirements. The Series 8,000 system is designed for homes with 1-3 bathrooms. The Series 10,000 is designed for homes with 3-6 bathrooms.
