The Omnipure K2520-JJ is a disposable inline granular activated carbon (GAC) filter designed for point-of-use applications such as refrigerators, ice makers, drinking water systems, RVs, and post-filter polishing in reverse osmosis setups. It features 1/4" quick-connect (John Guest style) push-fit fittings on both ends for easy, tool-free installation on 1/4" tubing. Its compact cylindrical design makes it ideal for tight spaces behind appliances or under sinks.

The Omnipure K2520-JJ has a nominal 20-micron filtration rating, which effectively reduces sediment, chlorine taste and odor, and other particulates from your water supply. It has a rated capacity of up to 1,500 gallons or 12 months of service life, whichever comes first. Flow rate is approximately 0.5 GPM, making it suitable for low-to-moderate flow drinking water applications like ice makers and refrigerator dispensers.

The Omnipure K2520-JJ is manufactured in a facility with materials that comply with NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for aesthetic effects. The granular activated coconut shell carbon media inside reduces chlorine taste and odor, sediment, and improves overall water clarity and flavor. It is not designed to remove dissolved solids, fluoride, or heavy metals like lead—for those contaminants, pair it with a reverse osmosis system or a dedicated lead-reduction filter.

Installation is quick and tool-free thanks to the built-in 1/4" quick-connect JJ fittings. Simply shut off the water supply, cut your 1/4" water line cleanly and squarely, and push each end firmly into the filter's inlet and outlet ports (note the directional arrow for proper flow orientation). Turn the water back on, flush 2–3 gallons through the filter to remove carbon fines, and check for leaks. The flush step is essential to clear any loose carbon dust before use.

Replace the Omnipure K2520-JJ every 12 months or after 1,500 gallons of use, whichever comes first. If you notice reduced water flow, a return of chlorine taste or odor, or cloudiness in your water, replace the filter sooner. Households with heavy water usage, poorly maintained municipal water, or well water with high sediment may need to replace it every 6 months to maintain optimal performance and protect downstream appliances like ice makers and RO membranes.
