The Omnipure K2586-JJ is an inline water filter combining Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) with polyphosphate scale inhibitor media. The GAC reduces chlorine taste and odor, while the polyphosphate beads help prevent limescale buildup and corrosion in appliances, icemakers, coffee machines, and post-RO applications. It features 1/4" quick-connect fittings for easy push-in installation on standard 1/4" tubing.

The Omnipure K2586-JJ has a 5-micron nominal filtration rating, effectively capturing fine sediment particles while allowing optimal flow. Its rated capacity is approximately 1,500 gallons or up to 6 months of use, whichever comes first. Actual life depends on water quality, usage volume, and incoming chlorine/sediment levels.

Omnipure recommends replacing the K2586-JJ every 6 months or after 1,500 gallons to maintain effective chlorine reduction and scale inhibition. If you notice reduced flow, returning chlorine taste, or scale appearing in your icemaker or coffee equipment, replace the filter sooner. Regular replacement protects downstream appliances from mineral buildup.

The K2586-JJ is designed for post-filtration on icemakers, refrigerators, coffee brewers, espresso machines, and as a polishing filter after reverse osmosis systems. It operates at pressures between 10–125 psi and temperatures from 40°F to 100°F. The compact 2" x 10" housing with built-in 1/4" John Guest-style quick-connect fittings makes it ideal for tight spaces under sinks or behind appliances.

Omnipure manufactures the K2586-JJ using components tested to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for aesthetic chlorine, taste, and odor reduction. The food-grade polyphosphate used is FDA-approved and safe for potable water applications—it sequesters hardness minerals to prevent scale without softening the water or adding significant sodium. The amount released is minimal and well within safe consumption levels.
