    description Instructions
    1. NOTE: if the top shelf is in the highest position it will need to be removed before filter installation. Simply tilt the front of the shelf upward and then pull the shelf out.
    2. Pull the old filter downward and turn it counter-clockwise to pull it out. Ensure that the filter has been rotated down completely before removing from the manifold.
    3. Remove protective cover from the top of the replacement filter.
    4. With the filter tabs in the horizontal potion push the new filter into the manifold.
    5. Rotate it up into place and close the cover.
    6. Flush the filter with 2-3 gallons of water to remove trapped air and contaminants from the system. (It is advised to run the water in cycles of 30 seconds on and 60 seconds off rather than dispensing continuously)
    7. Reset the water filter indicator by pressing and holding the water filter button for three seconds to turn the icon light off.

    Maximum Filtration

    USWF fridge filter carbon blocks are constructed from coconut carbon, and manufactured to a 0.5 micron rating. A 0.5 micron carbon block means the carbon is packed tighter compared to conventional 5 micron carbon blocks, effectively filtering much smaller contaminants. In addition to packing as much carbon as possible into our filters we also use only coconut shell activated carbon. Compared to other forms of activated carbon coconut shell carbon has more surface area and a higher density of micro pores leading to an overall greater porosity. The increased porosity of coconut carbon provides increased adsorption and filtration of volatile organic contaminants which is why it is considered as one of the best materials for water filtration.
