The Tier1 OR-34 is a replacement O-ring designed specifically to create a watertight seal between the filter housing and cap on compatible whole house and reverse osmosis filter systems. It is commonly used in standard 10-inch big blue housings and similar filter sumps, preventing leaks and ensuring proper system pressure during operation.

The Tier1 OR-34 O-ring is constructed from durable Buna-N (Nitrile) rubber, which provides excellent resistance to water, chlorine, and general wear. The Buna-N material is rated for cold water applications typical of residential filtration setups.

It is recommended to replace the Tier1 OR-34 O-ring every time you change your filter cartridge, or at minimum once a year. Regular replacement prevents leaks caused by compression set, drying, or cracking of the rubber. Lubricating the O-ring with food-grade silicone grease during installation will also extend its service life and make future filter changes easier.

The OR-34 is compatible with most standard 10" and 20" Big Blue style filter housings, including many models from Tier1, Pentek, and other major manufacturers that use the same housing specifications.
