The Doulton W9223002 is an open-both-ends (OBE) ceramic filter cartridge sized for standard 10-inch housings. Designed for use in pressurized filtration systems only - not compatible with gravity-fed configurations.
The W9223002 integrates four filtration stages within a single cartridge body:
Stage 1 - Sterasyl Ceramic Outer Shell: Submicron ceramic filtration captures fine particulate, pathogenic bacteria, cysts, and turbidity at the outermost layer of the element.
Stage 2 - Silver-Impregnated Ceramic Matrix: Ionic silver is locked within the ceramic structure itself, providing bacteriostatic action and self-sterilizing properties that inhibit bacterial proliferation within the filter element.
Stage 3 - Activated Carbon Block Core: Reduces chlorine, hydrogen sulphide, and dissolved organic compounds, contributing to measurable improvement in taste and odor.
Stage 4 - ATS Ion Exchange Resin: Targets lead and other heavy metal contaminants through ionic exchange, reducing trace metals to safe levels.
The Sterasyl ceramic formulation does not strip beneficial minerals from the water supply. The W9223002 element is field-cleanable, extending service life between replacements. Certified by NSF and the World Health Organization (WHO).
