USWF 82 GPM Pool Ultraviolet LightSterilization System H4-PL
- UV light destroys bacteria, viruses & algae without creating disinfection byproducts or affecting pH levels, saving money by reducing the amount of chlorine, shock, and pH balancing chemicals you need to maintain pool chemistry.
- Works with any pool with up to 82GPM flow, designed for easy indoor / outdoor installation with an easy to access drain port for winterization and splash cover to protect the electronics.
- Minimal maintenance, the UV lamp will run continuously for 10,000 hours with a single bulb so you can spend less time maintaining your pool and more time enjoying it.
- Durable 316 grade stainless steel UV chamber with a built in zinc anode rod prevents corrosion, for realiable long lasting protection, the system comes backed by a 3 year warranty.

Eliminate Chlorine Pool Smell
UV light sterilizes water without creating any disinfection byproducts like chloramine or combined chlorine which is the primary culprit responsible for the chlorine pool smell. By reducing the amount of chlorine spent to sanitize the pool water USWF pool UV systems dramatically reduce the buildup of combined chlorine allowing you to enjoy your pool without the unpleastent chlorine smell.
Reduced Chemical Usage
As water circulates through the UV chamber the UV light deactivates microorganisms and algae sterilizing the water so the amount of chlorine required for residual sanitization can be greatly reduced down to levels similar to those used in municipal drinking water a 50%-90% reduction depending on the pool.
UV sterilization also reduces the frequency of requiring pool shock. "Shocking a pool" is a process of hyperchlorination that is required to breakdown the buildup of combined chlorine or "chloramines". Chloramines form when chlorine mixes with organic materials in the pool like skin, sweat and oils, and is a natural byproduct of chlorine disinfection. Because UV sterilization supplements the disinfection process without adding any disinfection byproducts chloramines build up in the pool much more slowely reducing the frequency that pool shock is required.
Another side effect of reducing the amount of sanitizing chemicals is that less balancing chemicals will be needed to maintain stable pool pH and alkalinity.
Sizing Guide
The most important factor to consider when sizing a Pool UV System is to ensure that the pool pump's flow rate does not exceed the Maximum flow rate of the UV system. Because UV does not create any disinfection byproducts there is very little drawback to oversizing the pool UV system, so we recommend going with a larger system if you are unsure.
Most pool pumps are sized to turnover the volume of the pool once per day in 8-12 hours. You can calculate the max pool capacity of a Pool UV system with the following formula:
System Flow Rate (GPM) * 60 (Minutes / Hour) * (Hours / turnover) = Max pool capacity in gallons.
Example calculation for the USWF-H4-PL with an 8 and 12 hour turnovers:
82 (GPM) *60 (Minutes/ Hour) * 8 (Hour turnover) = 30,240 gallon pool
82 (GPM) *60 (Minutes/ Hour) * 12 (Hour turnover) = 59,040 gallon pool
The following charts show the USWF Pool UV Specifications and the systems we recommend for various pool capacities at 8 and 12 hour turnover rates.

Durable Performance
USWF Pool UV systems are built to last and backed by a 3 year warranty. The UV chamber is constructed with 316 grade stainless steel commonly found in marine applications which means it can even be used in pools with saltwater chlorine generators. 316 grade stainless steel provides superior corrosion resistance to chlorides compared to 304 grade stainless, and will outlast PVC housings since UV light degrades PVC reducing its strength over time. In addition to being constructed from corrosion resistant stainless steel USWF Pool UV systems also include a replaceable sacrificial zinc anode rod which not only protects the UV chamber from corrosion, but also helps protect the rest of your pool equipment from corrosion too.
