The 660002-R K+ Viqua Professional Plus UltraViolet Disinfection System is ideal for reducing microbial contaminants including protozoan cysts, bacteria, and viruses. During ultraviolet sterilization, UV light waves are used to deactivate the DNA of microorganisms so they can no longer reproduce. Each UV lamp lasts for up to 12 months, depending on use and water quality. Each quartz sleeve should be cleaned about every 3 months.
