What is a MERV 8 filter?
A MERV 8 filter is rated 8 on the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) scale that the EPA references, where higher numbers mean finer particle capture. It is our entry-level 4-inch rating.
Universal vs OEM-shaped 4-inch filters: which do I need?
The 4-inch filter you need is the one that matches the size printed on your current filter. If it reads 20x25x4 or 16x25x4, choose a universal filter. If it reads 19 x 20 x 4-1/4, or a Carrier or Bryant part number, choose the brand-shaped size.
