USWF Gravity Water Filtration Systems are a practical and cost-effective water filtration solution. By utilizing the power of gravity to draw unfiltered water from the top chamber into the bottom chamber, this system does not require any electricity, and does not need to be connected to any permanent water supply. Because of its simplicity and convenience it is the perfect water filter for outdoor camping, RVing, off-grid homesteads, but also works on any kitchen counter. It provides clean great tasting water for up to 6,000 gallons per pair of carbon filters and 1,000 gallons per pair of fluoride filters, in a durable stainless steel housing that is built to last. The 2.25 capacity can meet the demand of a family of 4, and the included sight glass spigot provides a visual indicator for when the upper chamber needs to be refilled. Tested and Certified by IAPMO R&T to NSF/ANSI Standard 372.
The USWF 2.25 Gallon Stainless Steel Gravity-Fed Filter System holds 2.25 gallons of water and uses two black purification elements paired with two fluoride reduction filters. Each pair of black filter elements lasts approximately 6,000 gallons (or about 12 months under normal household use), while the fluoride filters should be replaced every 1,000 gallons or every 12 months—whichever comes first. This makes it ideal for countertop use in homes, offices, RVs, and emergency preparedness setups.
What contaminants does this USWF gravity-fed system reduce? The USWF 2.25 Gallon Stainless Steel Gravity-Fed Filter System is engineered to reduce a broad spectrum of contaminants including chlorine, chloramines, heavy metals (such as lead and mercury), VOCs, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, sediment, rust, cysts, and unpleasant tastes and odors. With the included fluoride reduction filters installed, the system also reduces fluoride and arsenic, delivering clean, great-tasting water without electricity or plumbing.
What is the micron rating of the USWF gravity filter elements? The black purification elements used in the USWF 2.25 Gallon Gravity-Fed System feature a sub-micron filtration rating of approximately 0.2 microns. This ultra-fine pore structure physically blocks pathogenic bacteria, cysts, and fine sediment while retaining beneficial minerals, making it suitable for filtering municipal tap water as well as untreated sources like lakes, rivers, and rainwater in emergency scenarios.
How do I set up and prime the USWF Stainless Steel Gravity Filter System?Setup is tool-free: assemble the two stainless steel chambers, install the two black filters in the upper chamber using the included wing nuts, then thread the fluoride reduction filters onto the bottom stems of the black elements in the lower chamber. Before first use, prime each black filter with the included priming button under a faucet until water sprays from the sides. Then flush the system by discarding the first two full chambers of filtered water to rinse out any manufacturing residue or carbon fines.
When should I replace the filters in my USWF 2.25 Gallon Gravity System?Replace the black purification elements every 6,000 gallons (per pair) or every 12 months, and replace the fluoride reduction filters every 1,000 gallons or 12 months, whichever occurs first. If you notice a significant slowdown in flow rate that persists after cleaning the black elements with a scouring pad, it's time for replacement. Consistent replacement ensures the USWF system continues to deliver maximum contaminant reduction and optimal flow performance.
