Common questions
Pleated vs spun vs string-wound sediment filters: what's the difference?
A pleated sediment filter has folded media with more surface area than a spun filter of the same size. Spun and string-wound filters capture sediment through the depth of the media instead. Choose by the micron rating and size your housing needs.
Are pleated filters washable or reusable?
Some pleated polyester cartridges can be rinsed, but not all of them. Check the product page of the cartridge you are considering before rinsing it, and replace any cartridge that is not listed as reusable.
How long does a pleated whole-house filter last?
How long a pleated whole-house filter lasts depends on the sediment in your water and the cartridge's micron rating. A finer pleated cartridge fills faster than a coarser one. Each product page lists the maker's replacement guidance.
